Clinical Analysis of the Treatment of Axillary Osmidrosis by Subxutaneous Apocrine Gland Excision


Abstract
Osmidrosis is caused by excessive axillary apocrine gland secretion with foul odor. For radical treatment, complete removal of apocrine gland is essential. And many methods were tried to obtain good result without complication. Among them, subcutaneous apocrine gland excision has been known relatively acceptible treatment method with minimal complication. Author tried subcutaneous apocrine gland excision under direct visio of the gland through small one mid-vertical incision and multiple stab incision of flap and tie over dressing for prevention of hematoma and seroma. Author got a remarkable good result with above mentioned method and present 20 cases which is capable to follow up and result. Author also report the possibility of familial tendency of osmidrosis.
